National Zoo

Monday afternoon we went to the National Zoo for a fun afternoon of animal watching and dinner.  What we were not expecting was everyone else that lives in the DC area to be there as well ( I guess I should have expected that since it is spring break).

Anywho, we got to the zoo about 3:45, found a parking space, loaded up the stroller, and headed into the zoo.  Elizabeth did ask if we were getting more eggs, I had to tell her no we were just looking at animals (so hard to be 2 years old).  :)

First we saw an elephant (I got some pictures, but they are super blurry).  Elizabeth loved seeing the elephant asked for more all afternoon.

After the elephant we went to small mammals house.

 Elizabeth loved the sand cat!

We also went to the kids zoo and saw some goats, llamas, cows, and donkeys.
The cows started mooing at each other and Elizabeth was not quite sure what to make of it.

We also went to the Amazon Building.
Elizabeth loved all the aquariums.

After the Amazon Building we saw some bears

Elizabeth growled at them :)

We are enjoying spring break and hope you are enjoying the spring weather too!

Reston Zoo and an Easter Egg Hunt

On Sunday morning, Elizabeth and I headed over to the Reston Zoo for an Easter Egg Hunt and then to spend the morning with all of the animals.

We had never been to the Reston Zoo, but I had heard good things and I was excited to take Elizabeth for a new spring break adventure.  I told Elizabeth we were going to do an Easter Egg Hunt and see animals and she talked about looking for eggs for about 2 hours.

The three-and-under Easter Egg Hunt started at 10am and we got to the zoo around 9:30.  We walked around for a bit and then headed up to the egg hunt.  While walking around, Elizabeth asked every few minutes when we would go get eggs.

We saw a lot of goats and pigs that I didn't get pictures of.  After the goats and pigs, we saw some bunnies and then headed to the egg hunt.

 Looking at the bunnies.

Starting to fill up the basket.

She can't pick up enough blue eggs :)

Look Mommy!
I found a few more eggs

She wanted a few more eggs...

She insisted on carrying her basket

The basket is full!

 Checking out the goodies

She wanted to open the eggs by herself :)

We went to the bird house and Elizabeth tried to feed the birds

 Then we saw some Kangaroos
Elizabeth was disappointed that they were resting and not hopping

Then we saw some more goats

We hope you had a great weekend too!

Children's Museum

Friday at 3:16pm, I officially started spring break!!!

So, Friday evening Elizabeth and I hit up the Children's Museum at National Harbor for their Free Family Night to kick off our spring break week.

Elizabeth played and played and played for about 90 minutes.  She loved every minute (and it wasn't crowded at all).

(All of these photos are from my phone, so the quality is not the best)

Elizabeth loved climbing through the Sesame Street section.

We may have a fire fighter on our hands.
She loved driving the fire truck and turning the sirens on.

She also loved driving the food truck.
Maybe she is going to be a professional driver?

 Hi Mommy!

When we were leaving, she had to say bye-bye to Elmo.

Hooray for Spring Break!

A day at the park

This past week I have not been feeling so great, so we took it easy in the afternoons.  But one day, I decided to take Elizabeth to a new park (while the weather was nice).

I picked her up from the babysitter early, and we drove over to a new playground made especially for little nuggets.  Elizabeth absolutely loved every minute and played for 45 minutes.  I had to drag her away for dinner.

Looking out at the other kids.

 Getting ready to slide!

 Way too much fun!

 Another picture mom?

 She had a great time!

Inspecting the playground

Happy Saturday!
