Shelley and Adam's wedding!
Last weekend we went to Greensburg because Ben's good friend, Shelley, was getting married. Ben was a reader at the wedding so we attended the Rehearsal on Friday and then the Rehearsal dinner and on Saturday afternoon we enjoyed their beautiful wedding. I was so busy enjoying myself Friday that I forgot to take pictures and then didn't start taking them until the reception on Saturday. So, please enjoy some photos of Shelley and Adam's wedding reception.

Five months old
Dear Elizabeth,
Today you are five months old! I know I say this every month but I can't believe how much you have grown in the last month (and in the last five months)! Every day you are becoming more independent and more curious and it is exciting for us to watch.
Today you are five months old! I know I say this every month but I can't believe how much you have grown in the last month (and in the last five months)! Every day you are becoming more independent and more curious and it is exciting for us to watch.
You are 5 months old!
In the last month you have done a lot of traveling! You have been to North Carolina, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. You took your first plane (well, 4 planes) to get to Texas and back.
You have started eating food after your dinner bottle. You have had sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, carrots, and mangoes. You love carrots! You do not like apples at all. You eat about 2 tablespoons full of your fruits or veggies every night. You have been really funny to watch develop "eating" skills. At first you acted like we were doing something crazy to you and now you chew and chew on the spoon and smile for more food.
You are now getting four bottles a day and about seven ounces in each bottle. Sometimes you eat less and sometime you eat more. You weigh 15 pounds and are 25.5 inches long. That is 75% percentile for height and 50% percentile for weight. You wear a size 2 diaper and 6-9 month clothes.
You met a lot of new friends this month and got to visit with people you have seen many times before. You got to meet Ada, Tycho, Kepler, Justin, and Sara this month! You got to see Jared, Kelly, Scot, Uncle Adam, and Brigette again. You of course have hung out with Pari and Quin. The other night you also got to hang out with Sam and Alice because we babysat for Laura and Allen. You flew to Texas this month and met many cousins (Bryan, Jace, Lisa, Shelby, Sydney, and Stevie) and saw your Grandmother and Great Grandmother again along with Uncle Andy and Aunt Anna. Your cousin Jennifer was very fascinated with you and happy that you don't cry.
Elizabeth, I cannot fully express the joy you bring to our lives and how completely we have fallen in love with you. Happy five months my darling daughter. We love you!
Love,
Mom & Dad
First meal... sweet potatoes!
Happy 4th of July!
My new toy!
Smile!
Thanks Fairy Godmother for the bow!

Brain dump
Now that I am "back with the world" I haven't really been back in the world of blogging. Any I kinda don't miss it. Not sure what that means...
A few things have been on my mind lately and since school's out for summer (and Elizabeth is napping) I have time to ponder and ponder and ponder some more.
First up- losing weight is hard. I mean H.A.R.D. I have lost all of the baby weight but now I am trying to get back to college days weight. Or close to it. I have this ap on my phone and it is great at helping me track my food and exercise. But at the end of the day (and the middle of the day, and the beginning of the day) I feel hungry. Really hungry. I didn't realize how many extra calories I was eating a day and now my body is use to those extra calories and is having a really hard time adjusting. I just keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it. I use to never have a hard time finding clothes and now I constantly struggle. So I keep repeating this mantra:
Clothes taste better than food.
Sometimes this mantra works and sometimes it doesn't. Right now I am working hard to stay on the right path. I also heard someone say this mantra before (can't remember where) and it really stuck with me. Anywho- my goal is to lose 12 pounds. After that, we shall see.
Second up- only 6 weeks of vacation left. Yikes!!! Time has flown by. I can't believe it's almost over when it feels like it just started. I'm still crossing my fingers to win the lottery, but I think that is mostly doubtful.
Third up- I love swimming and I hope my daughter will too. We have taken her to the pool a few times and she has enjoyed herself. Once she is 6 months old, I can take her to a swim class, so I think that will be super fun for both of us (I hope!). Now if those dang water diapers weren't so expensive!...
Well that is all I have time for for now. Enjoy the day!

Thirsty Thursday is back!!!
Missing for a few weeks now has been Thirsty Thursday. Mostly due to my unending sinus infection and then our travels, but today we are back in business!
It's called The Tanqarita
It is 1 1/2 ounces Tanqueray Gin, 1 splash Triple Sec, and 3 ounces Margarita Mix. Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

Hello, blog-o-sphere
For the eight people that take the time to read my blog, you may have noticed I have not updated in awhile. For good reason, I assure you. We were without power for two days and then I went on vacation for five days, just to turn around and leave for two days. It's been a busy ten days to say the least.
For the 4th of July week, Ben and I took Elizabeth to Texas to see my family. It was her first time on a plane and she did great! Or I should say, all four (4!) flights she was on, she did great! We went out to my Grandmother's lake house for a week of relaxing, family time, cards, and chillin on the lake.
My Mom and Grandmother went all out for Elizabeth's first visit- she got her own pool! They also had toys, diapers, formula, food, and a pack n play. She is such a lucky little girl to have so many people that love her!
Here are some pictures of our adventures in the land of 'Everything is Bigger and Better in Texas'.

My Mom made signs to welcome all of the visitors to the lake.
We were all jealous that Elizabeth's sign has a wreath around it.

Anna also caught a HUGE fish!
