Seventeen Months Old!

Dear Caroline,

You are seventeen months old!

You have been very busy this month!  We traveled to Pennsylvania for Aunt Brigette's baby shower, we have had several snow days.  You enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day and Elizabeth's 4th birthday.  Your Ga Ga and Uncle Adam and Aunt Brigette came to visit.  We have gone out for frozen yogurt, jumped in a bouncy house, played at the gym, played with friends outside, read LOTS of books, and had your very first serious doctor's appointment.

You are 31 inches tall and weigh about 25 pounds.  You wear a size 4 diaper and a size 4 shoe.  You wear 2T pants and 18month-2T shirts.  You LOVE to eat and learned the word  'snack' this month, so you now ask for 'snack' about 90342 times a day.  You have eight teeth, but several are about to come through.

You love to read and I'm guessing we spend almost 2 hours a day reading (and re-reading) all of the books in the house.  You love to be with your sister and you follow her everywhere.  You eat almost everything that we eat, but you still love a gerber graduate squeezie for breakfast.  This month we have stopped cutting up your food into tiny pieces because you have enjoyed holding the regular portion and taking small bites.

You still HATE to ride in the car and scream/cry the entire car ride.  You love playing with the older kids and always want to do whatever they are doing.  You have added a few words to your vocabulary this month, you can say: Dada, Momma, Cat, Duck, Baba (cup) and Snack.  We heard you say sissy today but only one time.  You are really good at signing and always sign please, more, and all done.

At the beginning of February you were really sick and didn't eat or drink much for three days.  We took you to the doctor and they ended up giving you an IV (for dehydration).  You didn't like the IV at first, but eventually feel asleep while we waited for it to finish.

We love you so much baby girl and I cannot believe how fast you are growing and changing.  Here are some pictures from your adventures this month:

What's Up Wednesday!

I'm linking up today to join in on the fun that is What's Up Wednesday!  The last Wednesday of every month everyone joins in to share what they have been up to.  Here is what I have been up to:

What we are eating this week....
Monday- randomness, I had flat bread and soup, Ben had pizza, the girls had yogurt/toast/fruit
Tuesday- Pasta and meatballs
Wednesday- Haven't figured that out yet :)
Thursday- Breakfast for dinner
Friday- Meatless (probably fish or shrimp)

What I'm reminiscing about...
Elizabeth being a baby.  All this week and last have been Elizabeth on my Facebook time hop.
I miss this size...

What I'm loving....

I'm loving that most of our regular TV shows are back!
I'm loving this Lenten season.  We have been spending more time with Elizabeth talking about the meaning of Easter and Lent.  I love watching her learn more about Jesus.

What we've been up to.....

Celebrating Elizabeth!  And now recovering... or as we have taken to calling- Birthday Hangover.
This girl sure does love being 4!

What I'm dreading.....

Nothing really.  :)

What I'm working on....

Well... I've started training for another half marathon.
I haven't picked a race yet, but I'm looking :)

What I'm excited about....

Elizabeth and I are taking a mommy-daughter trip in March AND
I have two girls weekends in April!!

What I'm watching/reading....

Oh boy, Pretty Little Liars!
I know, I know.  It's a guilty pleasure :)
We are also watching: Scandal, NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans, and The Office on Netflix.

I'm saving my reading for my trips.  Looking for good book recommendations :)

What I'm listening to.....

I desperately need new music for my i-pod, so again, looking for recommendations.
Other than that, whatever is on the radio :)

What I'm doing this weekend.....

NOTHING!!!

What I'm looking forward to next month.....

Easter and my mother-daughter trip with Elizabeth

What else is new.....

I have a 4-year-old

Our Easter traditions...

We also do Easter baskets and hunt for eggs first thing in the morning.
Usually we follow that with a nice breakfast and then church.
This year Ben is reading at Mass so I'm not sure how that will affect our Easter lunch plans.

Happy Wednesday y'all!

Target Beauty Box Review

A few weeks ago I purchased the Target Beauty Box for the first time.  It was $7.00 and came with free shipping.  I tried it for a few reasons:

1) It was inexpensive
2) I have used only Clinique for 20 years, so I thought I should try some new products
3) Free shipping!!

 My beauty box!

It came with a lot of goodies AND a coupon :)

The card had a description of all the products

So, I've now tried most of the products and wanted to share my two cents on them.  I have been interested in trying new products but was looking for a little guidance (which is why I liked this sample box).

This scent was very strong.  I had to wash it off after a few minutes.
It kinda reminded me of old ladies ;)

This product is supposed to add body, but I have not noticed a difference.
I thought it would be great since it is winter and my hair gets flat in the cold,
but this product did not add any volume.

One of the reasons I have used only Clinique for so long is because I have sensitive skin.
Well...I put this on part of my face as a test.
After five minutes, my face was red and stinging.
I had to wash it off and put on my base moisturizer.

I like this product :)
But to be fair, can you really mess up a shower poof?

I normally use Redkin shampoo and conditioner.
The soapbox shampoo was great- my hair felt clean and not dried out.
The conditioner is another story- I had to go back and add my regular conditioner because the soapbox conditioner did NOTHING for my hair.

 I love this product!
I have it in my purse and have been using it at least once a day.
It's like chapstick but slightly more moisturizing. :)

I have not tried this yet.
I'm not really sure what I am supposed to do with the BB cushion.
If anyone can leave a comment to tell me, that would be great!
Is it a primer/base/foundation?

I thought I would really like this product, but the scent is too much for me.
It does a great job of moisturizing, but I had to wash it off because of the scent.

I have not used this yet.
I'm not sure how I feel about the multicolored nails.
Has anyone used this specific product before?  Did you like it?
I don't usually put color on my nails, but I will try this come Spring.

So overall, I only like a couple of the products (out of 10) and I am not sure if I will purchase another beauty box.  I think next month I will pay closer attention to the items in the box before I consider purchasing.  It was fun to try new products, but I also rediscovered why I use the same products year after year.  Have you ever tried a beauty box and liked it?  OR, do you like to use the same products again and again?

Happy Tuesday y'all!
