Life Lately

Life Lately has been busy and full of family, fevers, and some fun.  We started the week with fun on Monday having nature walks and a date night in, then Tuesday Elizabeth woke up with a fever.  We have stayed in most of the week but watched Sam, Alice, and Evie on Tuesday afternoon and Baby Cousin today.  I got to visit with some cousins on Wednesday and even scored some free breakfast this week.  This is what we have been up to:

 Nature walk!

Jumping on Dad after work :)

After the girls were in bed Monday night, Ben and I had a date night in.
We grilled steaks, roasted potatoes, and had cesar salad.
Good wine and cocktails and stayed out on the deck until after 10pm.
These are the nights I love with my love! :)

Tuesday morning, the girls and I hit up free breakfast at CFA.
This week it was a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit.
Caroline ate all the egg and half the sausage.

Tuesday afternoon- the littles were asleep and big were "resting"

On Wednesday we practiced using headphones with Caroline.
We are flying this week and she has never used headphones, so we figured practicing before her first flight would be a good idea. :)

Elizabeth wanted to practice too :)

Caroline is ready for our trip!

Wednesday afternoon, Elizabeth and I had a little bit of fun
Holding her in this things was killing my back after two minutes.
It says up to 45 pounds... Elizabeth is 36.  I have no idea how people carry a 45-pound-kid in this.

Wednesday night I had dinner with my cousins that are visiting from Texas.
Elizabeth still had a fever, so Ben stayed at home with them.
It was so great to catch up with them (because I very rarely get to see them).
We discussed all the fun things to do/see in DC. :)

 After dinner group photos!

We had a great time! :)

Today... this girl and her accessories :)
Look at that look!

I watched baby cousin today.
These three did this A LOT today.
I guess they all were looking to hang with someone besides me. :)

Happy Thursday y'all!

I've been looking at 4th of July recipes on pinterest and I have found a lot of pretty looking ones!  I'm not sure how nutritional any of these are, but they all look really good.  :)  I hope you will join me in trying one of these goodies this week.  I searched "4th of July recipes" on pinterest to find all of these.

Happy Wednesday y'all!

Weekend Review

This past weekend was our only weekend in Virginia during the month of June.  It was really nice to take a break from being on the road, but we were still very busy.  Elizabeth had her last day of camp, I went to Baltimore to visit a college friend, we hung up our new curtains, Ben added sand to the patio, I got my hair done, we had movie night, Ben read at church, we played dress up, and got in some pool time.

 Last day of summer camp!
Elizabeth had a day at the splash park, a hotdog party, and popsicles all on the last day.

She was very excited to go to camp on Friday! :)

While Elizabeth was at camp, I drove to Baltimore to visit my friend Josh.
We went to undergrad together and now he lives in China
(so we obviously don't see each other very much)
Josh was in Baltimore for the National Athletic Training Association Conference so we met up during a break in the conference.
It also happened to be Josh's birthday so we celebrated with cake :)

And of course a selfie :)

OH just a panda, reindeer, and bunny hanging out on a Friday night

After Caroline went to bed, we had movie night with Elizabeth.
She loves to snuggle with Ben and eat popcorn on movie night.
I love to watch them together :)

Saturday morning I got my hair highlighted.
Super happy after getting my hair done! :)

While I was getting my hair done (and running errands) Ben had the girls playing outside
And enjoying popsicles :)

Caroline's face and arms were red the rest of the day. Ha!

We tried to let the girls sit at their little table for lunch.
It ended with me chasing Caroline all over the place to get her to sit.
I guess she needs her booster seat awhile longer...

Saturday night dinner on the deck
Ben got Caroline to stick out her tongue

 And me

 And Elizabeth :P

Kinda hard to tell, but new blue curtains in the bathroom

And new (very) turquoise curtains in our bedroom

Sunday morning, Caroline and I went grocery shopping, so Ben and Elizabeth washed his car.
I think she did a great job!

Happy Tuesday y'all!
