Weekend Review

We had a nice weekend around here.

Friday morning I got my hair done- highlights and a hair cut

Here's a during-the-process action shot for your viewing pleasure :)

In the afternoon, I took Caroline for her nine-month appointment.
She is doing great!

Saturday morning, these two got a little silly.

Ben ran to Harris Teeter for me to pick up these free toasted pitas.
He grabbed 2 bags and some hamburger/hotdog buns for me.
I have a wonderful husband...

After Ben ran to HT, he was supposed to play 18-holes of golf with Jim as his father's day gift.
Well... it was pouring outside.  He called the course and they let them cancel with no penalty.  :)
Instead, the spent several hours at Top Golf playing, having lunch, and enjoying some beer.

Jim took these of Ben at Top Golf

After Ben got home, Elizabeth and I made red, white, and blue rice krispy treats.
I am thinking of making them for the 4th of July and wanted to do a test run.
We had a ton of fun making them and they turned out great!

 My assistant, she loves "assisting"

 First layer, red

 Second layer, white

 Third layer, blue

 Hey mom, THIS IS FUN!!!

Finished product

I have great memories of helping my mom make rice krispy treats
and I look forward to making those same memories with my girls

While Elizabeth and I were busy in the kitchen,
someone was learning how to climb onto the couch

So proud!

Saturday night, we babysat baby cousin so his parents could go on a date.

These two are so cute!

On Sunday, Ben read at Mass during the girl's lunch time so I stayed home with them.
After lunch, we went outside and did liquid chalk on the driveway (and a little real chalk).

Elizabeth LOVES to paint the driveway

Caroline woke up early from her afternoon nap,
so she joined me in watching Gilmore Girls while Ben was out playing tennis :)

Sunday night (and Saturday night) Ben and I enjoyed chocolate fondue
and cocktails while watching Netflix.

We hope you had a great weekend.

Happy Monday y'all!

Nine months old!

Dear Caroline,

Another month has flown by faster than all of the others.  I really cannot believe that you are nine months old!  I also cannot believe I have two kids.  I also cannot remember what life was like before you, but I digress...

 You are 9 months old!

You are wearing a size 3 diaper and size 12-18 month clothes.  You still get the same bottles; (4) 6-ounce bottles and (1) 4-ounce bottle.  You get baby food at lunch and dinner.  We tried to start breakfast baby food but then you got sick and you haven't seem to interested since then.  You still don't have any teeth.  I can't believe it.  Where are they???

At your nine month appointment yesterday, you weighed 19 pounds and 4 ounces and you are 28 inches long.

You have had a very bad virus this month that kept you out of all the fun for two weeks.  It started on the morning of June 8th when you threw up your entire bottle.  After that, you started having diarrhea for two whole weeks.  My sweet baby, you were so miserable and your dad and I felt so helpless.  Thankfully, you seem to be back to your happy, sweet self and have been enjoying bottles and playing again.

Since you were sick off and on for so long, it was kinda all consuming and so you didn't get to do too much out and about this month.  We spent a lot of time at home, but we did make a quick trip to Pennsylvania for John's graduation party.  You got to see all of your Pennsylvania family and were loved on by so many relatives.

Besides that, you helped me drop off and pick up Elizabeth every day from camp.  You have made multiple trips to the pool (before and after you were sick).  You love the water and love to watch the big kids playing in the pool.  You have spent a lot of time in the stroller either on the driveway or at the playground.  I know this will be my last easy summer with you because next year you will be running all over the place, so I am very thankful you are content to sit in the stroller.

You have "played" with your baby cousin several times this month and even went to Mrs. Vicki's house for half a day so Mommy and Daddy could go on a date.  Otherwise, we have spent a lot of time playing inside and exploring "new" toys from the closet.

Despite being sick, you have been all over the house this month.  You are crawling and pulling up on EVERYTHING!  The gates are back up by the stairs and into the kitchen (this drives your sister crazy).  You like to try and pull yourself into Elizabeth's pink chair when you think no one is watching and you love to grab Elizabeth's toys and crawl off with them.  One of your favorite things to do is stand over the air vent.  You love having the cool air blow over you and you laugh and smile the entire time.  Your dad and I think you will be walking before your first birthday.  You have also started to really sit this past month.  You will sit with a toy now and play instead of laying down next to it.  That is a big change because we knew you could sit, you just didn't care to.

 Play time at home.

 Look Mommy, a "new" toy!

 Silly selfie

You have been putting everything in your mouth

 My sweet loves

 She loves the playground

 More play time!

I asked Ben to try to keep her up until 5:30 one night (when she was sick)
He sent me this picture at about 5:05

 Poor, sweet sick baby

 Happier baby!

Told you she pulls up on everything

She loves to stand in her bed
