First Day of Kindergarten!

Yesterday was Elizabeth's first day of Kindergarten!

Elizabeth was excited and then every once in awhile she would quietly mention she was nervous.
I was a nervous wreck for days before school started and I'm glad we are finally through the first day.

Here's a look at some before-school pictures:

Breakfast before school- chocolate chip muffins and a 'K' pancake for Kindergarten!

A little peak at Elizabeth's decorated seat

Last year we took pictures on our driveway by the garage and the sun was in a different place.
We had to adjust our photo location a bit.

She was very excited and nervous

Potomac Nationals Game! (and extra fair photos)

Last Sunday we headed to a Potomac Nationals game to see our hometown team take on Winston-Salem.  The girls had coupons for free tickets to this game from their summer reading coupon book and they had a special parade before the game for all the summer reading kids.

This was the first time Caroline has been to a sporting event and we weren't sure how long she would last/how much she would enjoy it.  I think Caroline recalled her sister's tee-ball games because she was very into cheering (and the ballpark food).

When we arrived we waited in line to purchase our tickets.  While waiting in line we saw that kids 0-5 are free, so at the ticket window the cashier allowed Ben and I to use the girls free tickets for ourselves since both girls were already free.  A baseball game that we paid $0 to go...already a win to me! :)

When we walked through the gates, the girls were both given tickets for free hotdogs for lunch (apparently they do this every Sunday) AND all four us received a team jersey (the giveaway of the day)!

Ben and I were pretty blown away by the quality of the jersey and you could even upgrade it and get your name put on the back.

Once we got inside, we went in search of information about the kids parade, checked out the kid zone, and then found some seats in the grand stands.  I walked in the parade with the kids before the game while Ben held onto our seats.

Family photo in the Grand Stand!

 We try :)

Elizabeth kinda took off from us in the parade.
She loved waving at the people in the stands.

Caroline loved to wave at the baseball players and the people in the stands.

Ben went to grab lunch while we watched the game.
Elizabeth wanted to wear her jersey.

The girls also got lollipops before the parade.

Our view

During the second inning, I took Caroline to the shade to cool off.
Elizabeth wanted some selfies with Dad.

These two had so much fun together!

And don't worry, it's NOT PEPSI she's drinking. Yuck!
She's drinking water in a Pepsi cup :)

Elizabeth LOVES baseball!

 It was very HOT!!
Caroline loves a good program :)

We left during the 4th inning (it was very, very hot)
We are all happy to be back in the AC

Happy Friday y'all!

And...bonus pictures from the fair
Ben e-mailed me these after I posted my blog yesterday:

Arlington County Fair

Last weekend we headed to the Arlington County Fair for a fun day of exhibits, rides, food, entertainment, and lots of sunshine!

We spent about an hour walking around the indoor exhibit and the girls had a blast collecting pencils, magnets, piggy banks, lollipops, and toys from different vendors.  They filled reusable grocery bags with all their "loot" and had so much fun playing games to win prizes.

After the indoor exhibits, we headed outside to the kids corner.  The girls jumped on the moon bounces, got their faces painted, received balloon animals, and watched the Harlem Magic entertainment duo.

Elizabeth wanted Wonder Woman face paint

Caroline wanted a rainbow and a yellow circle on her arm

 Off to the fair rides!

We had so many balloons and so many goodies!

These are the last two pictures I took for some reason
(Having too much fun I guess)
:)

The girls on the jet ski ride.

The girls rode a bunch of rides and then we headed to check out the fair food!  We had some amazing food and then the girls wanted ice cream and shaved ice.  We said yes (of course) and enjoyed walking through the indoor area while we ate our ice cream.  We hopped on the shuttle back to our car and crashed on the couch after our day out.

Happy Thursday y'all!
