The week in review
I am freaking out a little bit right now because I have just noticed that there is moisture behind the screen in my camera and I am really hoping my camera does not break. I shall keep my fingers crossed and say a prayer.
This week has been pretty crazy even though I was on vacation. Sunday we drove to Deep Creek, Maryland for a relaxing ski weekend. When we arrived on Sunday the snow was coming down in blizzard form with crazy winds so we hunkered down inside and swam in the pool. Monday was similar to Sunday but I did venture outside for some sledding. Over the long weekend I read 11 magazines and have started a new book. Tuesday, Ben and I went out in the snow for awhile and then we headed back to DC because Ben had to work Wednesday and Thursday.
Friday morning we drove back to Greensburg so we could celebrate New Year's with our friends. Jared and Kelly host a party every year. About 2 months ago, they discovered that they have a serious moisture problem in their basement so their friends Jay and Amy agreed to host the New Years Bash! We met up with them and Justin and Sara (and the boys) and Scot. We had such a good time hanging out with everyone, eating a ton of food, and I learned how to play poker. We did watch the Gamecocks play and sadly lose.
Saturday afternoon we headed back to DC to get ready for our busy week coming up. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 11 days of vacation and I am sad to see it come to an end. I enjoyed the snow but I am now ready for warmer days to be here again.

Warm and cozy.

365 challenge
Lots to catch you up on but I will update tomorrow.
Last night (yes, New Years Eve) my friend, Sara, challenged me to a 365-day challenge. I can do anything I want, but it has to be something I can do everyday. So... I have decided to take her up on the 365 challenge. I am going to take a picture of myself everyday and post it on my blog. I am hoping to see how I change over the course of the year and if I can really take a picture of myself and post it online everyday (seems simple enough).

364 to go.
I want to challenge each of you to try and do something for 365 days. What are you going to do?

A week in review
This past week has been extremely hectic and I have already tried to write this post twice (but failed to do so due to bad internet connections).
I have also had a difficult time emotionally this week. This is the first Christmas away from my family and I have been having a really hard time dealing with it. I love Ben's family and I am happy they are so welcoming and loving, but it still isn't the same as being with my own family. As I posted earlier this year, my mom had a heart attack in September, and I am so thankful to have this extra time with her because she is alive. But I did not get to spend the holiday with her and it has been extra hard knowing that I could have lost her this year. While pondering and dealing with these emotions this week I have leaned on my husband every moment and I cannot express how thankful I am to have such a loving and supportive husband. I pray daily that my faith in God and the support of my husband will help me through this difficult time.
Although this week has been a challenge, it was also filled with happy times and we made some wonderful memories. I shared some of my family traditions with Ben's family and we started some new ones together.
