Las Vegas and Aurora, Colorado {Day 5}

Our last day in Las Vegas was fun, food-filled, and involved a lot of walking.  We started our day late and then headed over to The Venetian to see all the shops, admire the artwork, and enjoy a delicious lunch.

We walked and walked and walked and... finally made it to The Venetian

You can kinda see the canal behind/below me where gondolas travel all around

We stopped for lunch at an authentic Italian restaurant.
I had the best lobster ravioli topped with shrimp.
Yum!

After lunch, we headed back to our hotel and packed.  Once we packed, we headed out to the shops at The Linq to get some things for the girls and our parents.  I also wanted to look around the Kodak store and stop at Sprinkles for a cupcake.

 About to go into Sprinkles!

I got my cupcake from inside the store, but I could have used this cupcake ATM.
How cool is that?

I enjoyed my vanilla cake with milk chocolate icing back in our room.

Friday night, we flew from Las Vegas to Denver.  We stayed in Aurora on Friday night and grabbed cocktails at McCabe's (down the street from our hotel).  We had a nice evening relaxing, goofing off, and trying to take a good selfie with our cocktails.

Las Vegas {Day 4}

We were extremely busy on Thursday; hitting up lots of stores, two shows, sightseeing, and a nice dinner with unlimited wine.  :)

Thursday morning we walked through Caesar's Forum shops
The architecture and artwork is phenomenal
After Caesar's we walked over to The Flamingo to see the wildlife habitat

The Flamingo habitat is beautiful and has a koi pond that goes throughout the property

The habitat is gorgeous!
You have to walk through if you are in Vegas

After all of our walking, I relaxed and read while Ben hit up the gym.  I got sick on our trip and was downing DayQuil and cough drops at this point.  Once Ben was back and cleaned up, we headed out to lunch and then our first show of the day.

We got free tickets (from Jody our Grand Canyon tour guide) to see Mac King perform a comedy magic show at Harrah's.  We weren't sure what to expect but we had an awesome time!  We laughed for 80 minutes and left wondering... How'd he do that?  to more than one trick.  He performs daily in the afternoon so that he can be at home with his family at night.  I thought that was nice...

After the show, we did some gambling and then got ready for dinner.  We walked over to Battista's hole in the wall off the recommendation of our tour guide Jody (did I mention she is awesome?!).

Battista's is Italian (perfect for my Italian husband) and your dinner included multiple courses and unlimited white and red wine.  Dinner includes soup or salad, bread, entree, a cappuccino, and all the wine you could want.  It was so good and I highly recommend it as a reasonably priced restaurant on the strip.

Us after dinner.

After dinner we headed over to our second show of the day at The Mirage.  We got tickets to see The Beatles Love by Cirque du Soleil and the show was just so incredibly awesome!  It was definitely one of my favorite things about our trip to Vegas.  We got tickets to the 9:30pm show and it lasted until 11pm, but our night was not over...

This is the entrance to the show.
The lights change colors as you walk along the path.

After the show! :)

After the show, we headed back to our hotel to change and get our camera.  Then we walked over to the High Roller.  We won buy 1, get 1 free tickets to the High Roller when Ben played a slot and we decided to use them Thursday night/ Friday morning (we got on about midnight).
ps. I am afraid of heights

This is me sitting on the bench pretending to not be nervous

Up we go...

Why would anyone go during the day?

After the High Roller, we headed to the casino and played some video poker and slots.  We had a great and busy Thursday and we loved everything we did!

Happy Monday!

Ten Months Old!

Dear Caroline,

You are ten months old today!

Another month has come and gone so quickly that I'm not really sure where the time goes.  The time goes so fast that I am happy I record these monthly letters to help us all remember everything you have done.

You are wearing 12-18 month clothes and size 3 diapers.  You take (4) 7-ounce bottles and (1) 4-ounce bottle every day.  You get baby food at lunch and dinner and we have started to do some finger foods.  I have some puffs that melt in your mouth and you really enjoying picking them up.

We haven't done any other foods because until this week you didn't have any teeth.  You have started to cut two teeth at the same time this week and you have been chewing on every toy in the house.  I know you will feel much better once they have come through all the way.

You have done a whole lot this month and you are starting to become more independent.  You really want to move by yourself and you want to touch EVERYTHING.  You get mad when we move a toy or don't let you chew on our cell phones.  If you are reaching for it, you want it, and you want it now.  :)

You wished your Aunt Lolly a very happy birthday at the beginning of July.

You have made two separate trips to Pennsylvania.  The first trip was for the 4th of July where you spent time with your Aunt Brigette and Uncle Adam and went to a pool party at Kelly and Jared's house.  The second trip, you stayed with Nana and Pap Pap while Mommy and Daddy went on a vacation.

You have been to several playgrounds, and you rode the swings with your Aunt Brigette and then again by yourself for the first time!

You have started to really play with toys and you want all of Elizabeth's toys, you are kinda over the baby toys. :)

You have done a lot of swimming.  Well... floating, but you have had a lot of pool time and you love to kick and splash in the water.

We tried you out in the umbrella stroller for the first time this month and while you fit, you definitely prefer the big jogging stroller.

This month we started putting you in the grocery cart child seat.  You really enjoy it when Elizabeth sits next to you in the double seats.

 Happy Birthday Aunt Lolly
