THANKFUL

 TRAVEL.
I am thankful and feel so fortunate that we can afford to travel to see family and friends.
We don't live near either of our parents or siblings and I feel so blessed that we get to see them often
(either they travel to us or we travel to them).  We traveled to see each other every other weekend when
we were dating, and now we travel to show Elizabeth the world.  I feel so blessed.

 HOME.
I am so thankful that Ben and I have built a home together.
It is so fun to watch Elizabeth grow and change from a baby to a toddler in our home.
It's our first house we have owned and the first place we brought Elizabeth to when we brought her home from the hospital.  It is our home and it will always be our first home together.

 AMERICAN.
I am thankful and feel blessed to be an American.
I know it sounds cheesy, but I am thankful for this country and the rights of all its' citizens.
I can go to any church I want, read what I want, say what I want,
drive, vote, and express my opinion without fear of retribution.

 N.
N is the first letter of my last name.  My married last name.
I am so thankful for my husband.  He makes me a better person every. single. day.
Ben has taught me so much; how to love, how to give, how to be selfless, how to cook,
how to be patient, how to better communicate, and how to cheer for Pittsburgh sports' teams
to name a few.  The day I met Ben I knew there was something special about him and he shows me
every single day.  I am thankful for him.  Always and forever.

KIT KAT.
And all other forms of chocolate.  (okay, I am trying to be creative for "k")
But I really am thankful for chocolate (kit kats) and the fact that my whole family enjoys it.
A kit kat was the first piece of candy we ever gave Elizabeth
(this Halloween was her first time getting candy)
and she loved it!
So yes, I am thankful for kit kats and snickers and M&Ms.

FULFILLING GOALS.
This year I set some lofty goals for myself and I have fulfilled them.
I wanted to lose weight, get healthy, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Fulfilled!
I wanted to take my fitness to another level, and so I trained for a half marathon.
I did it!
Goal fulfilled!
I am so thankful that I still want to set new goals for myself and I feel so blessed that I was able to accomplish my goals.
I have watched my sister on her weight loss journey this year and she has fulfilled her goal and surpassed it!
I am so proud of Anna and I know she is working towards new goals.

 YOU.
I know that doesn't technically begin with a "U" but it is true.
I am thankful for all of you that read my blog.
I hope it something that you can relate to for some reason
and I hope it is something you enjoy.
Thank you to everyone for reading.  It means a lot to me.

LOVE.
I am thankful for love.  My husband's love, my daughter's love, and my family's love.
I love my husband and daughter more than I knew was possible and I see that love growing everyday.
And I am so thankful for the love I receive from Ben, Elizabeth, my family, and my friends.
Again, I am so incredibly blessed and it is so easy to forget.
Ben and Elizabeth- I love you!!!

Elizabeth and the cape

This weekend, we celebrated Kellan's third birthday.  Kellan is our neighbor and Elizabeth adores him (along with all of the older neighborhood kids).  Kellan had a Superhero birthday party at our neighborhood club house and it was a blast!

Kellan's mom (Kyla) is fabulous and put together a wonderful, creative party.  I loved all of her decorations and took several mental notes.

 Happy Birthday Kellan!

 Goody bags

Kyla made individual capes for each kid at the party

So awesome!

 Bean bag toss

So this was the first birthday party Elizabeth has gone to that she has been old enough to really participate.  At the party, they had a bean bag toss, obstacle course, capes and masks, sticker wall, and tons of food.  Elizabeth had so much fun running around with the big kids and wore her cape the entire time.

Elizabeth had so much wearing her cape on Saturday, that she wore it all day on Sunday- even right after she woke up.

Thank you Kyla, Drew, and Kellan for letting us join you for your special day.
Happy Birthday Kellan!

What's on our DVR...

We DVR all of our shows so that we can watch them when we want.  This fall we have tried a bunch of new shows but have ended up sticking with all of our old favorites.  We are also really big in Netflix and watching shows from there.

On the DVR-

 Marvel: Agents of Shield
(This is our new show)

 BONES

 Chelsea Lately
(this is for me, not Ben)

NCIS
(I miss Ziva)

 Pardon the Interruption (PTI)
We both love this show!

 Pretty Little Liars
(This is my guilty pleasure)

On Netflix-
White Collar

Sesame Street
(This is Elizabeth's favorite show)

What are some shows you must see?

Twenty-one months!

Dear Elizabeth,

You are 21-months-old (and 1 day!).  You are so funny, talkative, and full of personality- my little lady, you. are. fabulous!

For the past six days, you have been a sick little girl.  This photo of you is from the weekend, where you are watching Elmo and holding Minnie Mouse, Ugly Monkey, and Monkey.  You are so cute (and so pitiful).

We went to the doctor yesterday because you have been sick, so Mommy knows exactly how tall you are- 32 inches and how much you weigh- 22.3 pounds.

You wear 2T pants, 18-month shirts, size 4 shoes, size 24 month socks and 18-month coats.  You LOVE coats!  You love putting your "little wings" into the coat sleeves.  You also love wearing your hair ties and hair bows.  We have started putting your hair in two pigtails on the top of your head and you love shaking your head.

Some of your favorite things are: Sesame Street especially with Elmo's World, the Bubbles Bubbles book, and the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom book.

Some of your favorite foods right now: yogurt, apple sauce, cheese, pasta and sauce, peaches, milk, mac and cheese, and chick-fil-a grilled chicken nuggets.   You were given a kit kat at Halloween and really liked that too.

We have had a lot of fun in the last month (between all of our illnesses):
We took you to Butler's Orchard to get some pumpkins for Halloween.
You helped Dad carve your pumpkin.

You had dress-up parties the week of Halloween at Mrs. Vicki's house.

You went trick-or-treating and had your first piece of candy.
You ate lots of pasta and sauce.

You helped Mommy celebrate her 32nd birthday.

Here are some of your adventures for the last month:

 Hanging around the house.

She is up to no good...

Have I mentioned she LOVES pasta?

 Super cute!
