Feeding the ducks

Today we crossed another item off our summer 2015 bucket list and went down to water front park to feed the ducks.  We invited Jhena, Layla, and Hunter, along with Liz, Charlie, and Jack to join us for a fun morning of sun, ducks and fish, lunch, and we ended at a spray park.  It was such a fun day!

I packed individual bags of stale cheerios for all the kids (I can't believe we had stale cheerios but such is life) and also brought old bread I had been saving for just this occasion.  Jhena and Liz brought bread and buns and we were set for a morning of feeding all the animals.  The kids loved being allowed to throw the food into the water and watch the birds, ducks, and fish go after it.

 Layla, Jack, and Charlie

 Jhena, Hunter, and Elizabeth

A ton of ducks fighting over the food

Caroline enjoyed watching the big kids

Elizabeth was trying to feed the birds

 Double fisted throw

 The kids had a blast!

Once we were out of food, we went inside the torpedo factory to use the bathroom and develop a game plan.  When we came out the kids saw this fountain and we gave them pennies to throw in and make a wish.

Once they all wished about 9 wishes, we gathered the big kids for a group photo.

 Elizabeth, Layla, Jack, and Charlie

 They are a silly bunch...

but they are all so cute!

We had a picnic after these photos and then drove over to a playground/ spray park in Alexandria.  It was such a fun day, but we were very tired when we got home.  Now it's time to relax and enjoy a quiet evening at home with my favorites.

Happy Thursday!

Day at the zoo

Last Thursday I took the girls to the zoo for an afternoon of animals, lunch, and misting sprays!

We started off at the farm animal section.  We saw cows, goats, llamas, and chickens.

 Elizabeth LOVED petting the cow!

Then Elizabeth found a misting spray outside the farm animals

And ran through it a bunch

 Caroline found a dinosaur!
After the dinosaur we saw elephants :)

 Posing for a picture

 The orangutangs were outside

 Everyone stopped to watch them

Elizabeth wanted to go inside the reptile house.
We watched this snake shed it's skin.
Gross (and cool)!

We took a break for popsicles

On our way out, Elizabeth got her face painted for the first time

Caroline wanted a picture in front of the waterfall

So of course Elizabeth wanted one too

A good picture of her butterflies :)

We had such a great time.  The weather was cool (high 70s) and it wasn't overly crowded.
I bought a membership before we went so parking was included.  I am going to try to take them once a month now that we have a membership (and the tourists will be gone soon).

Happy Wednesday!

Pajamas and bracelets

So... last week we did some playing at home and I took a bunch of pictures.  :)

 Selfie with my big girl

Both girls went to time-out for pulling the DVDs down
(I couldn't help but take this picture, I was laughing so hard)
Aren't they cute?  Even when they are in trouble...

We spent one morning in our pajamas watching cartoons and playing
with all the toys.

She's so cute in footed pajamas!

We stopped by the dollar store and picked up a pack of bracelets
Apparently we don't wear bracelets in our house, we keep them in our mouth

 Even the big girl

 Yum?

Apparently so.

Happy Tuesday!

Life Lately

We have been battling colds and fevers off and on all summer (I told my neighbor it feels like the summer of sickness at our house).  So I have been taking full advantage of the days we are healthy and getting out and doing fun things.

Last Monday (the 27th) we had some good old fashion fun... in a box

I pulled them around the living room and dining room
and both girls laughed and laughed the whole time

Later that day, we went for a walk after the girls ate dinner.
This is the first time we have put both of them in the wagon and they LOVED IT!

 Having a serious conversation

Right after I took this picture Ben called me.
He had locked himself out of his car at his office.
He called AAA and they eventually arrived about an hour later.
Ben got home about 3 hours after I took this picture. :(

On Tuesday we enjoyed some driveway fun

With lots of bubbles and chalk

Wednesday morning selfies after the gym

Once we had lunch, I took the girls downtown to the Air and Space Museum.
These are the only photos I took and they are super blurry.
Elizabeth waited in line to "fly" this airplane, she loved it!

Elizabeth is obsessed with the show Miles from Tomorrowland and she ate up the whole museum.
She wants to go into space just likes Miles.

Wednesday after naps, we took some smiling selfies with Mom.  Ha!

This little one woke up from her nap and chewed on everything...

Even Elizabeth's new space shuttle.
This is what Elizabeth calls a huuuuuuuuuuug

On Thursday, Caroline was in the cutest outfit ever
I wish I had a better picture...

Friday we hung around the house and ate toys

And ate some food

That was our week (2 weeks ago).
Slowly catching up on our adventures.

Happy Friday!
