Botanical Gardens and Native American Museum

On Wednesday morning I decided to take the girls into the city for a morning of fun and exploring.

We started with the Botanical Gardens and then headed over to the Native American Museum.  We ended our adventures with a picnic lunch in the car because it was a tad too windy to eat outside.

Caroline had never been to the Botanical Gardens and Elizabeth didn't remember it, so it was a nice change to do something "brand new" with them.  Additionally, none of us had been to the Native American museum and both girls LOVED the children's area on the third floor.

It's so easy to forget about all the FREE fun we have in DC. I'm going to make more of an effort to explore more of the city with the girls as the weather gets warmer. :)

I promise they were excited :)

 We loved all the cacti!
Elizabeth remembered seeing some in Texas.

They have a beautiful Orchid exhibit right now.
So many beautiful varieties!

 One of my favorite

The girls wanted to sit and enjoy this beautiful fountain for a few minutes :)

One more look at the water in the entry way

They really liked the banana and plantain trees

A lot of the Botanical Gardens is closed/under construction so we made it through very quickly.  After a quick snack in the car, we headed over to the Native American Museum and had a blast exploring and getting the girls passports stamped.

Happy Thursday y'all!
