Las Vegas {Day 2}

We started our second day in Las Vegas with room service after about five hours of sleep. We never order room service so I definitely wanted to start our vacation with this special treat.  The Linq has fantastic restaurants and the room service was superb!

I set our breakfast up on the table.
I got waffles, scrambled eggs, and bacon.
Ben got french toast, scrambled eggs and sausage.
Both of our meals also came with fresh fruit.

After breakfast we headed to the pool at The Linq.  We found a semi-shaded spot by the pool and relaxed with books and cocktails.  Well... about 45 minutes later I felt like I was melting and I was eying the pool beds with umbrellas.  I asked our waitress about the pool beds and she sent over the pool hostess.  The pool beds were $25 for the day and I said "SOLD!".  We moved over to the pool bed and we were treated to a bucket of waters to go with the bed.

At the pool chair...

  Now at the pool bed.
So awesome!
I sat in the shade and Ben got to sit in the sun.  It was fantastic!
I told Ben all week it was the best $25 I have ever spent.

Enjoying our cocktails at the pool

Tuesday night we went out to eat with my friend Jon and his wife Tea.  They suggested we go to Diablos at the Monte Carlo and it was so good!  I am always down for some good Tex-Mex and this place hit the nail on the head.  We enjoyed a great dinner and cocktails and then we got a little tour of Vegas.

They took us to the Las Vegas sign

After the Las Vegas sign, we drove over to the Pawn Stars store.
The Gold and Silver Pawn Shop was closed (not really open 24 hours)

We had a great second day in Las Vegas and it was nice to get some inside details on the city from locals.

Some details about the day-

The room service was very good, but very expensive.  We only did it once and that was purely for the enjoyment and experience of enjoying room service on vacation.  There are several restaurants at the hotel that serve breakfast and we did enjoy those on other days.

We did enjoy a poolside lunch that was brought right to us.  I found the lunch options at the pool very affordable and they menu was extensive.  Once you ordered lunch, it took about 30 minutes to arrive.  All of the servers were very attentive and it was easy to order drinks and lunch.  All the pools is Vegas are only open from 9am-5pm and most are 21 and over.

I highly recommend leaving your hotel and trying other restaurants.  It was great to meet up with locals and get their perspective on places to try.  Diablos was great and very affordable.  We didn't have to wait for a table and the restaurant was busy but not overly crowded.

If you want to go into Gold and Silver Pawn, go between 9am-8pm and be prepared to wait in line (in the sun).

The Las Vegas sign has parking so you can easily get to it and take your picture.  Be prepared for crowds and try to get your picture on the side.

And that's our day two!

Happy Thursday!
