Friday Finals!

I hit up Harris Teeter on Sunday morning and stocked up on our groceries for the week.  I thought I would break down this week's shopping with a little more detail because I have had some requests to explain a little more about the coupons I use when I shop.

My Harris Teeter Trip

What I picked up:

(2) Bags of Pirates Booty- on sale 2/$5, had (2) 0.75 cents off, doubled to $1.50 off each= $2 total
(1) Box of Honey Nut Cheerios, on sale for $1.97, had 0.50 cents off, doubled to $1 off = 0.97
(1) Box of Lucky Charms, on sale for $1.97, had 0.50 cents off, doubled to $1 off = 0.97
(2) Boxes of Cheerios, on sale for $1.97 each, had $1 off = $2.94 total
(2) Earth Best squeezie fruits, on sale for $1.33 each, had buy one, get one free coupon= $1.33 for 2
(1) 6-pack Viva paper towels, clearance priced $2.11, had $1 off = $1.11
(2) Boxes of Special K Bars, regular price $3.19 each = $6.38 for 2
(1) Container Harris Teeter apple sauce, regular price $1.97
(2) Sprout squeezie fruits, regular price $1.49, had buy one, get one free coupon= $1.49 for 2
(6) Bananas, regular price 0.79 pound = $1.04
(1) Green bell pepper, regular price $1.49
(1) 8-pound bag Russet potatoes, regular price $2.77
(1) 1-pound bag baby carrots, on sale for $1.50
(1)  Whole Wheat bread, on sale for $2.49, had 0.55 cents off, doubled to $1.10 off = $1.39
(1) Minute Maid Orange Juice, on sale for $2.50, had 0.75 cents off, doubled to $1.50 = $1
(2) Containers of Kraft Parmesan cheese, on sale 2/$7,  (2) 0.75 cents off, doubled to $1.50 = 2/$4
(5) Yoplait yogurts, regular price 0.60 cents each, had 0.50 cents off, double to $1 = $2 for 5
(2) 18-count Harris Teeter large eggs, on sale 2 for $3.94 (will dye in a few weeks)
(1) Half gallon lactose free milk, regular price $3.94
(2) Gallons of whole milk, regular price $2.99
(1) 12-pack diet coke, on sale for $3.49, had $3 off = 0.49 

Total spent: $48.14
Total saved: $45.50 (from coupons and store discounts)
All of the bolded items, I got the coupons from www.coupons.com.  It's free!
My sprout coupon came from the newspaper and the diet coke coupon came from my coke rewards.


The girls and I also hit up Giant later in the week:

My Giant trip:

(5) Boxes of Eggo Minis
(1) 8-count of hamburger buns
(1) box of Special K Bars

The Eggo waffles were on sale for $2 each.  If you buy 5, then you automatically saved $5.  I also had $1 off coupon.  So I got five boxes for $4.

The hamburger buns and special k bars were regular price.
