Weekend Review

On Friday, we were busy, busy, busy!  We made a layered dessert, took walks, played with toys, and hosted friends over for dinner.  It was a great start to a great weekend!

Friday morning, Elizabeth helped me make a chocolate trifle to serve for dessert Friday night.

She really enjoyed whisking the chocolate pudding

The big trifle

Caroline has started hoarding toys and putting them into my lap.
I looked down the other morning to find this.

I change out the toys every other week and thought the girls would have some fun with the big car this weekend.  Well... they fought over it for 30 minutes before getting bored and moving on to something else. #sisters

The weather was warm-ish on Friday afternoon so we went for a walk

And Elizabeth can't go outside without her weapons.

Friday night; Jim, Anuja, and Samara came over for dinner and playtime.  Well...we were having too much fun that I forgot to take pictures.  It was nice to catch up with them and the kids had fun playing together before bed time.

On Saturday, we headed into DC and took the girls to the Museum of Natural History.  We spent about 90 minutes exploring animals and dinosaurs.  We headed upstairs to the butterfly pavilion, but sadly it was closed.

 Elizabeth LOVES the elephant.
As soon as we walked into the museum she asked to go see it.

Looking down at the elephant from the second floor.

This girl walked the entire museum.

And climbed on a few benches :)

The dinosaur exhibit is closed for the next three years so they have opened a small one upstairs.
The girls LOVED seeing the dinosaurs and exploring the entire room.

 Awesome!

Elizabeth asked to see the bears and tigers...

We came home for lunch and then the girls went down for rest time.

After Elizabeth's rest time, we took a walk around the neighborhood.

Almost-four-year-olds have lots of energy to burn off.

Saturday night we did a movie night with Elizabeth.
She got Aladdin for Christmas, so Ben popped some popcorn and we all watched it.
This is my attempt at a selfie before the movie started.

After Elizabeth went to bed, Ben and I played Hand and Foot.

Sunday morning, we all slept in until about 8:45am and then we got up, had breakfast, and got ready for church.  By the time we left for church at 10:45, it was snowing!  We made it through the flurries and got to church without any problems.  After church, we enjoyed lunch at home and then the girls went down for naps.  While the girls napped, I did our grocery shopping and then it was time to watch the Steelers!

 Ready for the game!

A little game time snack :)

 Sadly, we lost. :(
So I made apple martinis to help us feel better ;)

Sad we lost, but glad for this martini

And that was our weekend.
I hope you had a great one and that you enjoyed some football.

Happy Monday y'all!
